My Speech: Jacob

My Speech

Do you like homework? Hello, Look at your homework book. Do you think it is hard, if you look inside the book, is it filled with writing or didn’t you bother doing it. Is it laughing at you because you didn’t do your homework. I'm here to tell you about homework. Do you think it should be banned?

Homework, It is hard, there are many excuses that you could make up but teachers will not believe it. Homework is work for home, not for school at lunchtimes.

How would you feel if you had to stay in at lunchtime to do your homework? How would you feel if you were in a team and you were playing a class sport at that lunchtime when you were doing your homework?

Teachers wastes a lot of their time printing homework sheets, it wastes a lot of our schools black ink. I think teachers need a rest from all that printing. The page is just going to be blank, after a long day at school, we need a rest from all that hard work.

It is like we are going to be stuck with it forever. Homework gets us stressed if we have to do it, if we don’t do it we stay in at lunch. It wastes two hours of our playtime at home, we can do something without worrying about homework. If you force people to do homework, they will become nervous and not work as hard as they should also they might become irritated.

The government said that children need to do at least 2 hours of homework each night, that’s a long time. If homework is banned that 2 hours would be used to play games, play outside or rest. In Japan they do at least 4-5 hours of homework each day, too much homework may become less important in its effectiveness. In the USA, there is a high school and 70% of kids won’t even do their homework

What would you do if you were stuck with homework for the rest of your life? The life where you have fun, at home, at a friends house, playing consoles and enjoying the life of being a kid.

If we don’t have homework we won’t waste the teachers time on printing the paper. If they print homework sheets for too long they might fall asleep. People say that homework is finishing your teachers work or doing their job for them.If you don’t agree with me, they’ll keep on getting you to finish their work for them. It will go on and on until they get you to teach the class.
